A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday for Martino (“Marty”) Nobile of East Haven who died on Monday June 25, 2012 at the Smilow Cancer Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Linde Nobile and father of Nancy M. Nobile of Newark, Del. And Karin A. Nobile of Branford, CT. The Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Taylor Ave, East Haven. A private burial will follow for family members only. Mr. Nobile, son of the late Alphonse and Alphonsina Carraro Nobile, was born in New Haven, March 10, 1924. He worked for J. Press, Inc. for 48 years. He served in the U.S. Army’s European Theater of Operations during WWII for which he was awarded The Purple Heart among numerous medals. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, was an Advisory Board member of the East Haven Senior Center and a member of the Annex YMA. Besides his wife and daughters, he leaves a sister, Anna Girasulo, of West Haven. He was pre-deceased by sisters, Phyllis, Pasqualena and Rose and brothers Carmen, Alphonse and Anthony. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Hagaman Memorial Library WWII Discussion Group of which Mr. Nobile was an active participant at 227 Main St.,East Haven,CT 06512.
